MCP Shield: Detecting true fraudulent activity on Mobile Operator Payments

Our real-time fraud detection and blocking product MCP Shield continues to see large numbers of Direct Carrier Billing (DCB) or Premium (PSMS) opt-ins where there is no user interaction on ‘the page to be protected.’

A number of fraud systems used by Mobile Operators or Aggregators are reliant on behaviour-based bot protection systems. Because these fraud systems are NOT detecting user interactions, a volume of fraud slips through the net. Anti-fraud systems like MCP Shield that sit on the opt-in / payment page can combine this analysis with other behavioural data, thereby enabling MCP to identify and block more fraud.

The problem is compounded by fraud systems trying to detect fraud on a redirect. By blocking fraud on the redirect before the opt-in page, the system is less effective, rendering it unable to assess whether there is any real user action on the page.

Find out more about how MCP Shield narrows in on true fraud and can help you avoid throwing out the good with bad!
