MCP Insight – dramatic increase in IRAQ VAS Ad Scanning

MCP Insight’s presence in IRAQ has increased exponentially between July and September. We are now logging more than 5,000 advertising flows per day with over 45% of these being VAS ads, accounting for a 36% rise in VAS ads overall.

From a compliance perspective, across the whole market over the same period we saw a rise in Misleading advertising, particularly around false claims and claims or illustrations likely to mislead the consumer. Comparatively we saw a decrease in advertising Targeting Children. Considering our increased logging of finds over this period, this suggests a market shift in advertising tactics that put consumers at risk.
